TALLINN, ESTONIA

Finally, after much procrastination and delay and other things coming up and just not having time...  (Enough excuses!)

We have updated Flickr with more travel pictures from our epic cruise this past summer in northern Europe; specifically, my shots from Tallinn, Estonia.

Going through these pictures made me come to the revelation (perhaps not a final conclusion, but realization none-the-less) that I loved Tallinn, that it is currently sticking in my memory as my favourite port of call, and that I would go back there in a heartbeat.  Sure, we only saw the old, touristy, medieval part of town, but it had such charm, character and history that you just want to sit and soak it up!  Which is really what we did in Tallinn...  We went armed with a map and directions for a walking tour with the intention of wandering and getting lost and having fun!  We did just that, and discovered a beautiful surprise in Tallinn.

We were lucky enough to have Tallinn as an early port of call, and so we hit the city before many of the touristy places had even opened, so we had the old town pretty much to ourselves for a couple of hours.  It was peaceful and quiet and lovely, great for pictures (no people!) and Jeff got some great shots for his HDR processing.

Full album is here on Flickr.
